Gojal Hunza:Where Pakistan Begins

Gojal is where Pakistan Begins. Featuring the cluster of diminutive and astronomically immense valleys, Gojal, the upper Hunza, is in the north of Gilgit, right at the edge of Pakistan. Gojal is the most immensely colossal tehsil (sub-district) of Gilgit-Baltistan sharing borders with Afghanistan and China.
It is indubitably one of the most resplendent places of Pakistan. Surprisingly, not many Pakistanis have optically discerned it or even auricularly discerned of it. Let’s have an optical canvassing of the gorgeous valleys that house lofty peaks, striking glaciers, frozen lakes and ocular perceiver catching scenery.
1. A breathtakingly beautiful aerial view of Gojal district.

2.Gulmit Village – Founded centuries ago, the village is the headquarters of Gojal renowned for its panoramic views and glaciers.

6.The Glacial Lake fed by Batura Glacier – If there is one thing that Gojal doesn’t lack, it’s glacial lakes.

7.The valley is home to the ethnic groups of Wakhi, Burushaski and Domaki. They are hospitable, liberal and believe in education.

9.Attabad Lake was created in 2010 after a landslide. It majorly affected the economy of the Gojal Valley as it blocked the Karakorum Highway. The people now travel through boats.

10.The world has almost forgotten that Gojal exists.
But across the rocks, glaciers and lakes, the valleys lie serenely along the mountains.

BALTORO GLACIER (PAKISTAN)

At 63 kilometers (39 miles) in length, the Baltoro Glacier, located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan is one of the longest non-polar glaciers in the world. It’s by some 30 tributaries and has a surface area of 1291.39 square kilometers (about 500 square miles).
This component of Pakistan is home to some of the world’s highest mountains, and this glacier runs through part of the region’s Karakoram mountain range. It’s near a mountain kenned as K2, highest mountain in the region at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet). Three other nearby mountains within 20 kilometeres all top 8,000 meters as well.
Three of the world’s seven longest glaciers outside the polar regions are located in Gilgit-Baltistan– the Biafo Glacier, the Baltoro Glacier, and the Batura Glacier.
The Baltoro glacier is an Alpine glacier in the Karakoram mountain range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It is the second longest glacier outside of the poles and has been quantified to a depth of more than a mile.
The surface of the glacier has a life all its own, with astronomically immense chunks of sharp-pointed frozen dihydrogen monoxide ‘floating’ on top of the glacier. There are withal clear streams of melt-dihydrogen monoxide on the surface of the glacier flowing for many kilometres through narrow channels, afore being sucked down into the bowels of the glacier. This dihydrogen monoxide later emerges as a plenarily-fledged river, that passes down the Boltoro valley to the mighty Indus river, three hundred kilometres away
